Regents Exams

The Regents Exam Prep Center was developed by the Oswego City School District to help students prepare for New York State Regents Exams.

It covers mathematics, science and history regents and includes study strategies, formula sheets, thematic reviews and old examinations.

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) provides old exams with answers at their State Assessment website.

The New York State Library also provides digital copies of exams for all subjects.

Regents Examination schedules can be accessed from here.

The library also has Barron's Review Guides for many subjects.

Summer Reading 2008 Registration

Registration for the 2008 Summer Reading program at Middletown Thrall Library will begin on Monday, June 9, 2008 and continue through Monday June 30, 2008.

Registration requires a vaild library card and must be done in person.

The Summer Reading Program starts on Monday July 7, 2008 and continues up to Monday, August 4, 2008.

A Mother's Day Gift

Middletown Thrall Library Youth Services Department Presents "A Mother’s Day Gift," a special three day craft program for persons 8 to 13 years old. Here are the dates:

• Monday, April 21, 2008: 3:00 PM until done
• Wednesday, April 23, 2008: 3:00 PM until done
• Friday, April 25, 2008: 3:00 PM until done

This event will be held in the Children’s Department at Middletown Thrall Library. Registration is required.

Successful College Interviews

On May 13, 2008, Lesley Cymrot of Learning Seminars Co., will present two workshops to the students of Middletown High School on Successful College Interviews.

This event is a collaborative effort between Middletown Thrall Library: Youth Services and School Media Specialist Jean Allee.

The Lion,the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Story Time Updates

"First Step" Story Time is for ages 18 months to 35 months.
This group meets on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM.
No registration is required.

"Three to Get Ready & Four to Go!" is for ages 3 and 4.
Stories, songs, finger plays and/or games.
This group meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM -11:15 AM.
Registration is required

"Moving Up" is for ages 5-7,
Stories, crafts, and/or games based on a theme.
This group meets on Wednesdays at 4:15 PM - 5:00 PM.
Registration is required

"Exploring" is for ages 8-13,
Fiction and nonfiction stories, discussion and/or craft.
This group meets on Thursdays 4:15 PM - 5:00 PM

Two Free Movies!

Ever Wish You Could Draw?

There's an artist in you waiting to be discovered! Get in touch with your creative side by attending our popular "Come Draw with Me" series in the Children's Department.

This program is held on Saturdays for the age range of 7 to 12 years old. There is a program limit of 15 participants, who must be Middletown Thrall Library card holders.

Registration is required on the day of each program. Here is the schedule for 2008:

• January 12th, 12 – 1 pm: "Drawing New York City"
• February 9th, 12 - 1 pm: "Vase with Flowers on Table"
• March 8th, 1 - 2 pm: "Outside Windows and Plants"

In the Mood for Something Sweet?

On Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM, Something Sweet Dessert Cafe will present "Something Sweet," a program about Valentine Day Cookie Decorating.

This program will be held in the 2nd Floor Community Room at Thrall. Registration is required, and the program is limited to Thrall card holders. Suggested age range for this program is 4 to 13 years old.

Learn to Knit!

Have you always wanted to know how to knit or crochet? Now is your chance! Consider attending this program to learn the basic stitches for knitting and crocheting.

This program is open to ages 8 - 17. You must be a member of Thrall Library.
