B. Minutes Mr. Berkowitz moved for adoption of the minutes of the December 7, 2006 meeting. Ms. Connolly seconded. President's Report Mr. Bell said they will have an executive session regarding items related to the attorney and contract negotiations at the end of the meeting. F. Director's Report (A copy of the Director's Report sent to each Board member is attached to the official minutes.) G. Treasurer's Report Mr. Gallagher reported on the accounts and balances. Library Staff Reports Mr. Gallagher reported that a Middletown High School student has been hired as a part- time library clerk to replace Miguel McPherson. I. Committee Reports Building & Grounds Committee: Ms. Lange reported that Mr. Gallagher and Mr. McGovern met with representatives from Day Automation, located in Latham, about the HVAC system. Discussion followed. Mr. Bell reported that he would like to keep everyone in place on the committee's they are already assigned for the time being. Finance Committee: Ms. Connolly moved that the regular monthly disbursements for December, 2005 in the amount of $89,699.06 having been audited by Rosa Boyd and found to be correct, be approved. K. New Business Discussion was held on a letter from library staff regarding security concerns in recent weeks. Also, a letter went from the library director to the City of Middletown Police Chief. Matt Byrne, Police Chief, acted on the request for foot patrols immediately. Discussion followed on security issues and coverage. Ms. Connolly moved to authorize Mr. Gallagher to make the Library Board a member of the NYS Association of Library Boards. Mrs. Hutchinson seconded. Ayes: Bell, Boyd, Berkowitz, Lange, Kay, Hutchinson, Connolly - 7 Noes: None Motion declared approved. (01/11/06 -8) Mr. Berkowitz moved to go into executive session at 8:08pm to discuss the hiring of an attorney and labor negotiations. Mrs. Boyd seconded.
