Guides Available
When doing research and writing a research paper, you eventually need to cite the sources
you used.
Middletown Thrall Library offers several different ways for you to learn how to document
information.
First, you must know what citation "style" (method) you will be using. "MLA" and "APA"
are examples of popular citation styles.
Your teacher should tell you which style you should use. Iif not, definitely ask!
When You're Ready...
We invite you to...
- visit the library and browse through the various citation style guides (start at the "Dewey Decimal" number of 808.2 either at Reference or in our regular nonfiction shelves)
- try some of these subject searches to locate (and try reserving) helpful guides in the library system catalog:
- explore our online directory of online citation guides by clicking here
- try one or more of our database services (many of which you can access from home using your Thrall library card) and take advantage of the automatic citations they often provide at the end of articles or abstracts
