Results of the 2025 Vote for the
2026 Library Budget
A public budget vote and trustee election was held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Middletown Thrall Library, 11 Depot Street, Middletown, NY 10940 between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm in the library's Reading Room.
All registered voters who reside in the Thrall Public Library District were eligible to vote.
Voters approved a 3.25% ($137,918) increase to the tax levy for a total of $4,362,410 in 2026.
The results of the vote are:
Voters selected candidates to fill three trustee seats, two with four year terms and one with a three year term. The candidates with the two highest vote totals have been elected to four year terms and the third highest vote total will serve a three year term.
The following individuals were elected to the Board of Trustees:
- Carl S. Berkowitz
- Narene Russell
- Stevenson Monchery
A public hearing was held at Middletown Thrall Library on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 7:00pm to address the proposed library budget for 2026. The proposed gross budget for 2026 was $4,725,410, which is an increase of $158,418, (3.47%) over its 2025 total.
The Library proposed a 2026 tax levy of $4,362,410, which is an increase of $137,918, (3.25%) over its 2025 total.
