A. Mrs. Lois Ruckert, President, opened the meeting at 5:35pm.


B. Minutes
Mr. Berkowitz moved for adoption of the minutes of the December 11, 2013 meeting.
Mr. Bell seconded.

D. Correspondence
A copy of all correspondence sent to each Board member is attached to the official
minutes.

The Board discussed a letter from Robert Hubsher in reference to the RCLS 2014 budget.

Mr. Pfisterer announced that February 27th is Library Advocacy day in Albany.


G. Treasurer's Report
Ms. Lange moved to assign the President, Treasurer and Library Director as the
signatories to the Orange County Trust Bank. Mr. Berkowitz seconded.
Ayes: Ruckert, Lange, Crown, Bell, Boyd, Berkowitz – 6
Noes: None
Motion declared approved. (01/08/14 – 8)

Discussion followed.

Ms. Lange moved to amend the previous motion about signatories to Orange County Trust
Bank to include Rosa Boyd as a trustee signatory. Mrs. Crown seconded.

H. Library Staff Reports
No report.


I. Committee Reports
Finance Committee: No report.


Building & Grounds: Ms. Lange reported on Building & Grounds.
We have had a second incident of a book being returned at the circulation desk and found to
be infested with cockroaches. Desk staff believes they killed the majority of the insects,
the book was bagged and discarded. There are no signs of infestation in the circulation
desk area to date.

The locking mechanism failed on the first floor men's restroom door and a part needed to
be ordered. A part has also been ordered for the stall latch in the women's second floor
restroom. The parts should arrive and the repair should be complete this week.

A call was made to Tri-county Heating and Plumbing on 12/31/13 for excess heat in the
building. An adjustment was made to boiler number two and the problem was resolved.

Discussion was held on the Emergency Closings of the Library.

Mr. Berkowitz moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:15pm. Mrs. Crown seconded.
