January 8, 2014


I. Call to Order
Mrs. Rosa Boyd, opened the reorganizational meeting of the Thrall Public Library District
of Middletown & Wallkill Board of Trustees at 5:00pm.

II. Pledge of Allegiance
Mrs. Rosa Boyd led the pledge.


III. Election of Officers
The nominating committee, announced the following slate of officers:
Lois Ruckert – President
Tonia Crown – Vice President
Marlena Lange – Secretary
Barbara Kay - Treasurer

There being no other nominations, Mr. Bell moved that the Board accept the slate of
officers as presented. Ms. Lange seconded.
Ayes: Bell, Berkowitz, Boyd, Lange, Ruckert – 5
Noes: None
Motion declared approved. (01/08/14 – 1)


IV. Designation of Official Newspaper
Mr. Berkowitz moved to designate the Middletown Times Herald Record as the official
newspaper. Ms. Lange seconded.
Ayes: Bell, Berkowitz, Boyd, Lange, Ruckert – 5
Noes: None
Motion declared approved. (01/08/14 – 2)


V. Designation of Official Bank
Mrs. Boyd moved to nominate the Orange County Trust Company as the official bank
for the library. Ms. Lange seconded
Ayes: Bell, Berkowitz, Lange, Ruckert, Boyd – 5
Noes: None
Motion declared approved. (01/08/14 – 3)


VI. Designation of Official Investment Firm
Ms. Lange moved to nominate the Stifel-Nicholas firm as the official investment firm. Mr.
Berkowitz seconded.

Noes: None
Motion declared approved. (01/08/14 – 4)


VI. Appointment of Attorney
Mrs. Boyd moved to appoint Robert Isseks as the Library District’s attorney. Mr. Bell
seconded.

VII. Adjournment
Ms. Lange moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:34 pm. Mrs. Boyd seconded.
