Minutes of the Organizational Meeting
Thrall Public Library District of Middletown and Wallkill
Board of Trustees
January 9, 2008

I. Call to Order

Mr. Richard C. Bell, opened the reorganizational meeting of the Thrall Public Library District
of Middletown & Wallkill Board of Trustees at 7:03pm.

Mrs. Rosa Boyd (arrived 7:17pm)
Mr. Carl Berkowitz
Mrs. Joan Hutchinson
Ms. Marlena Lange
Mr. Kevin J. Gallagher, Director

Ms. Barbara Kay (excused)

II. Pledge of Allegiance

Mr. Richard C. Bell led the pledge.

III. Election of Officers

The nominating committee, announced the following slate of officers:
Marlena F. Lange – President
Carl S. Berkowitz – Vice President
Joan Hutchinson – Secretary
Barbara Kay - Treasurer
Mr. Bell moved that the slate of officers be accepted as proposed. Mrs. Hutchinson
seconded.


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Lange, Hutchinson – 4
Noes: None

Motion declared approved. (01/09/08 – 1)



IV. Designation of Official Newspaper

Mr. Berkowitz moved to designate the Middletown Times Herald Record as the official
newspaper. Ms. Lange seconded.


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Hutchinson, Lange – 4
Noes: None

Motion declared approved. (01/09/08 – 2)



V. Designation of Official Bank

Ms. Lange moved to nominate the Orange County Trust Company as the official bank
for the library. Mrs. Hutchinson seconded


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Lange, Hutchinson – 4
Noes: None

Motion declared approved. (01/09/08 – 3)



VI. Reappointment of Richard Guertin as Attorney

Mr. Berkowitz moved to reappoint Richard Guertin as the library district attorney. Mrs.
Hutchinson seconded.

Noes: None

Motion declared approved. (01/09/08 – 4)



VII. Adjournment

Ms. Lange moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:07 pm. Mr. Berkowitz seconded.
