Minutes of the Organizational Meeting
Thrall Public Library District of Middletown and Wallkill
Board of Trustees
January 10, 2018

I. Call to Order

Mr. Matthew Pfisterer, opened the reorganizational meeting of the Thrall Public Library District of Middletown & Wallkill Board of Trustees at 5:00pm.

Ms. Marlena Lange
Ms. Linda Martini (arrived 5:15pm)
Mrs. Marianne Sciucco
Mr. Matthew Pfisterer, Director

Mrs. Tonia Crown (excused)

II. Pledge of Allegiance

Mr. Pfisterer led the pledge.

III. Election of Officers

Mr. Pfisterer, announced the following slate of officers:
Richard C. Bell - President Carl S. Berkowitz Vice President
Marianne Sciucco - Secretary Tonia Crown - Financial Officer
There being no other nominations, Ms. Lange moved to accept the slate of officers as


presented. Mr. Berkowitz seconded.


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Boyd, Lange, Sciucco – 5 Noes: None Motion declared approved. (01/10/18 - 1)

IV. Designation of Official Newspaper

Mr. Berkowitz moved to designate the Middletown Times Herald Record as the official newspaper. Mr. Bell seconded.


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Boyd, Lange, Sciucco – 5 Noes: None Motion declared approved. (01/10/18 – 2)

V. Designation of Official Bank

Ms. Lange moved to nominate the Orange Bank and Trust as the official bank for the library. Mrs. Sciucco seconded.


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Boyd, Lange, Sciucco – 5 Noes: None Motion declared approved. (01/10/18 - 3)

VI. Designation of Official Investment Firm

Mrs. Boyd moved to nominate the Stifel-Nicholas firm as the official investment firm. Ms. Lange seconded.

Noes: None Motion declared approved. (01/10/18 – 4)

VI. Appointment of Attorney

Ms. Lange moved to appoint Alex Smith as the Library District's attorney. Mrs. Sciucco seconded.

VII. Adjournment

Mr. Berkowitz moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:05 pm. Mr. Bell seconded.
