A. Mrs. Rosa Boyd, President, opened the meeting at 7:15pm.


B. Minutes
Ms. Kay moved for adoption of the minutes of the December 14, 2011
meeting. Mr. Berkowitz seconded.

D. Correspondence
A copy of all correspondence sent to each Board member is attached to

E. President's Report
Mrs. Boyd is proud to take the seat as President and thanked the Board
for giving her the
opportunity.

Mr. Pfisterer reported that the status of the Certificate of
Registration from DLD is in
process.

I. Committee Reports
Finance Committee: BUDGET AMENDMENT #8 (12/31/11)
Ms. Kay moved that the Board of Trustees of Middletown Thrall Library
amend the 2011
budget to be increased as follows:

ADD
Revenue L2705 Gifts & Donations $20.00

ADD
Appropriations L7410.8521.12.3814.5 Young Adult Books $20.00

Mr. Berkowitz seconded.
Ayes: Boyd, Bell, Berkowitz, Kay, Ruckert, Lange - 6

Ms. Kay moved that the regularly monthly disbursements for November
2011 in the
amount of $62,205.96 having been audited by Lois Ruckert and found to
be correct, be
approved. Ms. Lange seconded.

Building & Grounds: Ms. Lange reported on Building & Grounds.

Mr. Pfisterer met with a representative from Utica National Insurance
who inspected the
premises and provided a list of recommendations to improve safety,
particularly during the
winter months. He has shared these recommendations with the custodial
staff.

Brad McGovern examined the custom woodwork in the Board Room and
discovered that
some of the fallen pieces were made from plaster rather than wood. He
believes he can
fashion replacements for the damaged pieces from wood.

No word on the replacement doors for the library entrance. We were
told the doors would
be ready by mid January 2012.

Steve Dodd Plumbing was called to repair a leak in the toilet flush
handle of the first floor
women's room. He responded promptly and completed the repair.

The heating system mysteriously shut itself down twice over the course
of the past month.
Brad suspects that the water sensors in the tank may be faulty. We
have a call into Tri-
County about this.


J. Old Business
Ms. Kay reported that Ruth Kurdyla, a member of the Friends, passed
away on January 7,
2012. Discussion followed.

K. New Business

Mr. Berkowitz moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:41pm. Mr. Bell
seconded.
