Minutes of the Organizational Meeting
Thrall Public Library District of Middletown and Wallkill
Board of Trustees
January 19, 2011

I. Call to Order

Mr. Carl Berkowitz, opened the reorganizational meeting of the Thrall Public Library District
of Middletown & Wallkill Board of Trustees at 7:00pm.
Attendance

II. Pledge of Allegiance

Mr. Carl Berkowitz led the pledge.

III. Election of Officers

The nominating committee, announced the following slate of officers:
Carl S. Berkowitz – President
Rosa Boyd – Vice President
Lois Ruckert – Secretary
Barbara Kay - Treasurer
There being no other nominations, Mrs. Ruckert cast one yes vote for the slate of officers. Mrs.
Boyd seconded.


AYES: Ruckert - 1
Declared approved. (01/19/11 – 1)

IV. Designation of Official Newspaper

Ms. Kay moved to designate the Middletown Times Herald Record as the official
newspaper. Ms. Lange seconded.


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Boyd, Lange, Kay, Ruckert – 6
Noes: None

Motion declared approved. (01/19/11 – 2)



V. Designation of Official Bank

Ms. Kay moved to nominate the Orange County Trust Company as the official bank
for the library. Ms. Lange seconded


AYES: Bell, Berkowitz, Lange, Kay, Ruckert, Boyd – 6
Noes: None

Motion declared approved. (01/11/11 – 3)



VI. Appointment of Attorney

Ms. Kay moved that Richard Guertin be kept on as the library attorney for negotiations for the
month of January, and ask Mr. Robert Isseks to come to the February meeting for the
possibility of hiring him as the library district attorney. Discussion followed. Mr. Bell
recommended keeping Richard Guertin on for January and February. The Board agreed. Ms.
Lange seconded. .

Noes: None

Motion declared approved. (01/13/10 – 4)



VII. Adjournment

Ms. Boyd moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 pm. Mrs. Ruckert seconded.
