A. Mrs. Rosa Boyd, President, opened the meeting at 7:00pm and led the pledge
to the flag.


B. Minutes
Mr. Berkowitz moved for adoption of the minutes of the February 13, 2013 meeting. Ms.
Lange seconded.
Ayes: Boyd, Bell, Berkowitz, Ruckert, Crown, Lange - 6
Noes: None

C. Visitor Comments
No comments.

D. Correspondence
A copy of all correspondence sent to each Board member is attached to the official
minutes.

Mr. Pfisterer sent a letter to Mayor DeStefano in reference to the Heritage Trail.

E. President's Report
Mrs. Boyd thanked Mrs. Ruckert for running the Board Meeting last month; Mrs.
Crown, Mrs. Ruckert and Ms. Lange for handling the evaluation; Mr. Pfisterer, Mr.
Bell and Mr. Berkowitz for going to Lobby Day in Albany and Ms. Kay for all she does
with the Friends.

Discussion was held on the parade for the 125th anniversary of the City of Middletown.

F. Director's Report

G. Treasurer's Report
Mr. Pfisterer reported on the accounts and balances. (attached to official minutes)


H. Library Staff Reports
Mary Susan Climes, Head of Reference, reported on acquisitions, collection development,
reader's advisory, electronic collections and etc. Discussion followed.


I. Committee Reports
Finance Committee:
BUDGET AMENDMENT #3
Mr. Berkowitz moved that the Board of Trustees of Middletown Thrall Library amend the
2013 budget to be increased as follows:
ADD
Revenue L2705 Gifts & Donations $5.00
A Wirth
ADD
Appropriations:
L7410.8521.12.3810.5 Books (adult) $ 5.00

Ms. Lange seconded.

Finance Committee:
Mr. Berkowitz moved that the regular monthly disbursements for February 2013 in the
amount of $98,842.96 having been audited by Richard Bell and found to be correct, be
approved. Ms. Lange seconded.

Noes: None

Building & Grounds: Ms. Lange reported on Building & Grounds.
Mr. Pfisterer contacted Simplex Grinnell regarding the elevator shaft fire safety proposal
and expects the work to be completed within the next few weeks.

The building safety committee will be meeting this week.

The HVAC system has been working effectively this winter.

We have not experienced any roof leakage in the past few weeks. We are going to contact
our roofing contractor to have some broken tiles replaced.

J. Old Business
Discussion was held on library safety preparedness.

Mrs. Ruckert moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:10pm. Mr. Berkowitz seconded.
