Building & Grounds: The second round of bids for the boiler replacement project were
opened at the Library on June 27, 2018. Three bids were submitted. We are awaiting a
recommendation from our project engineer. I expect to have that before our July 11,
2018 meeting. Discussion was held on the boiler project.

We continue to work to resolve a relay issue that was brought to our attention during our
yearly safety inspection. Our alarm and HVAC service company are working together to
resolve the issue.

We are awaiting a replacement of a part for the motor that cools one of the air
conditioning units as it operates. The system has been functioning at a reduced capacity
since the part failure.

The Library's carpets will be cleaned on Sunday, July 22, 2018.

Our exterminating contractor has informed us that we are not experiencing any
infestation issues in the building.

Budget Committee: Mr. Berkowitz moved that whereas, the adoption of this 2019
budget for the Thrall Public Library District of Middletown and Wallkill requires a tax
levy increase that exceeds the tax cap imposed by state law as outlined in general
Municipal Law Section 3-c adopted in 2011; and

Whereas, general Municipal Law Section 3-c expressly permits the library board to
override the tax levy limit by a resolution approved by a vote of sixty percent of
qualified board members; now therefore be it

Resolved that the Board of Trustees of the Thrall Public Library District of Middletown
and Wallkill vote and approve to exceed the tax limit for 2019. Mrs. Crown seconded.
Ayes: Bell, Berkowitz, Boyd, Crown, Lange, Martini; Sciucco -7
