What a Mess!

The Internet is not organized. Information exists everywhere and is constantly changing as computers connect and disconnect from the Internet. Information is not always to be found at the same location on the Internet; sometimes it is relocated to another area. Sometimes information disappears. You should also understand that not everything is on the Internet, which is why you should always initiate your research at your local library.

This constant fluctation of information keeps the Internet dynamic and interesting, but, when we need to find information, the Internet's changeable nature complicates the search process. We cannot assume information found at one place will be there the next time we need it.

Millions of computers - and people - make up the Internet around the world, and the Internet is in use every hour of the day, all year long. The sheer volume of information is uncontrollable and unpredictable.
