Her vision was to réorganize and house clean the Library. A
dictionary catalog was to be started rather than separate author,
title, subject listings. She wanted a trained children's librarian to be hired for the new Children's Room. "Attract the
foreigners who cannot read English but who are able to read their
native languages to the Library," she said. Books that help the
Americanization of non-Americans should be on the shelves at the
Library. She called for the creation of branch libraries in the
City and the extension of library services beyond the city
limits. Lastly she would be among the first, if not the first,
to call for an addition to Thrall Library because of its

By the end of 1926 a 'trained children's 11brarian was in
place replacing one that was hired late in 1925 but stayed only a
few months. A complete inventory of book stock was taken and a shelf 11st created also. At this point the staff consisted of
